Jane Hall
Professor Jane Hall is the founding Director of CHERE and Professor of Health Economics in the Faculty of Business at UTS. She studied undergraduate economics at Macquarie University and holds a PhD in Health Economics from Sydney University. Jane is President of the International Health Economics Association (iHEA) and President of the Health Services Research Association of Australia and New Zealand (HSRAANZ). In 2005 she was elected a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences in Australia. Jane is a member of the Medical Services Advisory Committee which advises the Minister for Health and Ageing on the funding of new medical technologies in Australia.
Jane has represented Australia at many international health policy forums. She is actively involved in policy analysis and critique, and is a regular commentator on health funding and organisational issues in Australia.
Jane’s research interests include the investigation of individual decision making, valuation of health and health care benefits, and social welfare measurement. Her current research includes studies of unpaid health care, and developments in the Australian health care system. Her previous research includes economic evaluation studies in many areas of health services and public health.
